SUMMIT EDUCATION
About Summit
Summit Education helps young people reconnect with learning by providing structured tutoring and support in alternative, flexible settings. We work with those who are currently out of school or finding it difficult to engage in traditional classrooms — with the aim of building confidence, closing academic gaps, and easing the path back into full-time education.
Our approach
☻
Connect
We begin by building trust. Through calm, consistent sessions in relaxed settings, we create a safe space where young people feel heard, respected, and ready to engage.
❋
Assess
We explore each learner’s academic needs, emotional wellbeing, and barriers to learning. This helps us set clear, achievable goals and tailor every session to the individual.
✦
Support
With a blend of tutoring, conversation, and gentle structure, we focus on rebuilding confidence, filling academic gaps, and encouraging healthy habits through movement and reflection.
✿
Reintegrate
Our end goal is always meaningful reintegration. We track progress, maintain regular communication, and work closely with schools, families, and professionals to support a smooth return to education.
Support built around the young person
When school feels difficult, the first step is finding a way back into learning that feels manageable. Summit offers individual mentoring and tutoring for young people who are out of school or struggling to engage in a traditional classroom.
We start with their strengths, interests and barriers to learning. Support combines a trusted relationship with clear expectations and achievable goals, creating space to rebuild confidence at a pace that works for the individual.
Mentoring and confidence
Calm, consistent 1:1 support helps young people develop trust, communication and independence. Practical activities and conversation provide opportunities to recognise strengths, build routines and take positive steps forward.
Tutoring with purpose
Learning is adapted to the young person’s starting point. Sessions help address academic gaps and rebuild confidence, with opportunities to connect literacy, numeracy and problem-solving to everyday tasks and personal interests.
Independence and next steps
Where appropriate, mentoring can explore future education, training and employment. Activities may include preparing a CV, practising interviews, planning journeys, budgeting and exploring suitable work-experience opportunities.
What working with Summit looks like
Learning beyond the classroom
Sessions take place in suitable, agreed settings that help the young person feel comfortable and ready to engage. Depending on their needs and goals, this may include libraries, outdoor spaces, leisure facilities and other community environments. Activities are chosen for a purpose: building a relationship, developing a skill or taking the next step towards learning and independence.
A shared plan, with clear goals
We work with families, schools and involved professionals to understand the young person’s needs and agree meaningful goals. Support is shaped around the individual, with a balance of mentoring, tutoring and practical activity where appropriate.
Recognising progress
Progress can begin with attending a session, talking to a trusted adult or trying something new. Alongside academic learning, we recognise growing confidence, participation, communication and independence. Attendance, engagement and progress towards agreed goals help inform reviews and the next stage of support.
Moving forward together
The aim is a positive next step: re-engaging with education, preparing for a return to school where appropriate, or exploring further education, training and employment. Plans can adapt as confidence and readiness develop.
Start a conversation
If you are a parent, carer, school or professional exploring support, contact Summit to discuss the young person’s needs, current availability and the next steps for a referral. Session arrangements and costs are agreed as part of an individual offer.
